This cylindrical grinder is specially designed for grinding small and medium size pressure rolls with convex or concave shapes.
The system uses a cambering device to generate parabolic shapes. The upper part of the table is floating on a series of steel balls for table rotation. The table can also be locked down enabling the operator to grind straight cylindrical parts.
The MG8440B is a high precision grinder with a hydro-static spindle bearing capable of holding very close tolerances and producing mirror finishes. The workhead has a variable speed D.C. drive motor. This machine is also equipped with a load sensor that monitors the wheel pressure on the workpiece, and a special coolant filtration system for a consistent surface finish.
All of ECOTECH’S Cylindrical Grinders have a heavy aged cast iron construction, that has been precision machined and hand scraped. The MG87440B has a Hydro-static spindle bearing on the wheelhead.
